LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) – Judy Bowman, WHEEL POWER CHRISTIAN CYCLISTS FOUNDER , said “I’m excited, it’s going to be a great trip.”
This is not just ANY trip in a car or plane. Judy is taking this… Not a smart car, it’s an eye-catching 3-wheel BICYCLE with an electric assist.
Judy Bowman said “The electric assist really helps on the hills, rolly hills. I hit 32 going downhill biking over here this morning, so it’ll get up there.” DENNIS – Judy’s passion is talking to as many people as she can can about Jesus. This is her 15th bike trip across America, the first 14 were on a 2-wheel bike. Judy’s team of 6-to-8 will be pedaling for more than two months, 32-hundred miles from Georgia to Los Angeles.
Judy Bowman – “We’ll average about 60 miles a day, we don’t ride on Sundays so we have a day off to go to church, to worship and catch up on, you know, e-mails and, you know, laundry.”
They’ll spend nights at pre-arranged churches along the route. This ministry on wheels, now celebrating its 25th anniversary, is driven to spread the love of Jesus.
“Probably hundreds of thousands of people that we have touched.”
And this year’s final destination of Los Angeles, it’ll have an added blessing for Bowman.
I’m pedaling to my 50th high school reunion. So I think it’s fitting I’m also a grandmother, so the slogan is 68-year-old grandma pedals to her 50th high school reunion.”
